About us…

I started this blog 5 years ago to spread awareness about my oldest son’s abuse at school.  I think it was a huge part of the healing process for me, as his mother, to share his story and spread awareness for autism and the behavioral challenges that come with it.  I have been quiet for the past 4 years… even let the domain expire, but I have been told my stories should be shared.  Shared to give laughs.  Shared to support. Shared to help others understand and cope… and most importantly, shared to inspire others to make a difference in the world they live in.  So here it is.  2016.  Cheers to a new beginning.

Who am I?  Well, that depends on which angle you are looking from.  I am definitely a unique breed that most consider ‘crazy’, but I am sure that anyone you crossed on the street that wore 100 hats would get the same label.  I am a head strong woman who believes she can do anything she puts her mind to.  I step up to every challenge presented with the idea that I will prevail; if not at first, then definitely on my next try.  Being a military wife made me strong and independent; even when I really didn’t want to be.  When you are given no choice, it grows with you.  Raising kids is not for the weary.  TRUELY PARENTING is completely exhausting.  I can see why so many ‘opt out’ of actually doing it.  Autism throws a whole new color to the parade and now that my kiddos are starting teen years, let me tell you, that parade manages to find its way marching on my last available nerve most days.    I seriously need to find or start a support group for parents of teenagers so we can shake our heads together.  We manage though in a house that was purchased as my ‘pinterest project’.  It is tight quarters, but well below budget allowing for me to customize it exactly how we want it.  It is a work in progress… probably will be for awhile.  My life is crazy, busy, and full of spirit; I wouldn’t have it any other way.
